Ultrasound is one of the most widely used imaging studies in order to diagnose various diseases in our body. It uses high frequency sound waves emitted by sophisticated medical equipment, which records these waves once reflected in the different organs and converted into images by a computer. It is a very safe, painless and non-invasive procedure, since it does not emit radiation. It is used primarily in the imaging of abdominal, gynecological, obstetric, fetal, thyroid, breast and soft body parts pathologies, among others. Another type of advanced ultrasound is doppler, which allows the study of the most important arteries and veins of our body. It is also possible through this imaging technique to study the heart, its anatomy, valves and functioning in a study known as echo cardiogram, with which we can diagnose in time pathologies that affect it and endanger the patient's life.
